Friendship Groups

Triple A Social Groups are safe places for autistic adults to meet, make friends and socialise. These groups operate at various locations throughout Cumbria such as:

  • Barrow-In-Furness
  • Carlisle
  • Kendal
  • Maryport
  • Online
  • Penrith
  • Whitehaven

BARROW IN FURNESS

• Barrow Group: A small group of people who meet up once a fortnight to chat and occasionally participate in activities such as playing board games, walking and going out for lunch. (Fridays 12-1:30pm)

CARLISLE

• Carlisle Late Diagnosis Group: A small group of people aged 40+ who meet up once a fortnight to socialise, talk about their experiences as people who were diagnosed later in life and drink coffee or tea. (Thursdays 9:30-10:30am)

• Monday Group: A small group of 3-6 people who meet up once a fortnight to chat and partake in activities such as bowling, walking and playing pool. (Mondays 1:00-2.30pm)

• Tuesday Group: A small group of 3-8 people who meet up once a fortnight to chat and partake in activities such as walking, bowling and crazy golf. Occasionally the group will go for a meal out – these sessions tend to have a higher attendance. (Tuesdays 6:00-7.30pm)

KENDAL

• Kendal Group: A long running group that often meets in a private room. This group often participates in fundraisers and community matters. (Wednesdays 3:00-4:30pm)

MARYPORT

Maryport Group: A small group of 4-8 people who meet up once a fortnight to chat, play games and work on individual projects. (Tuesdays 1:30-3:00pm)

ONLINE

 E-Pals: A small group of 2-8 people between the ages of 18-60 who meet up once a week online via zoom for chat and quizzes. (Tuesdays 6:00-7:00pm)

 Talking Autism: An online autistic led group where autistic adults can chat about their experiences of autism, ask questions and share insights, information and coping strategies. (Alternate Thursdays and Saturdays 7:00-8:00pm)

• Women’s Group: An online women’s group that meets every two weeks for an hour. Very easy-going with no expectations of attendance or contribution, it’s a great opportunity to meet some people who’ve had similar experiences and exchange ideas as well as just have a chat. (Alternate Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00-8:00pm)

PENRITH

• Penrith Group: A group for autistic adults run by volunteers who meet up once a week to chat, game and discuss their interests. (Tuesdays 11:00am-2:00pm)

After Work Group: A group designed for those in work to chat and discuss interests. This group runs once a fortnight. (Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm)

• Dungeons and Dragons: A group for autistic adults dedicated on the popular tabletop RPG Dungeons and Dragons – both new and experienced players are welcome. (Thursdays 1:00-4:00pm)

• Art Club: A creative group dedicated to crafting, painting and other forms of artistic expression – welcome to those with any level of artistic ability. (Fridays 10:30am-12:30pm)

WHITEHAVEN

• Whitehaven Group: A small group of 2-6 people between the ages of 18-60 who meet once a fortnight at a local quieter cafe or their private side room for chat and discussions. (Thursdays 12-1:30pm)
